Certification

Aware of the importance of the sustainability of Amazonian forests, Inversiones La Oroza is one of the wood industries committed to the FSC certification process. From February 2015 to June 2017 one of our forest concessions complies with the international standards of the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and has the FSC-CW (controlled wood) certificate.

Since May of the same year 2015, our industries located in Iquitos have been certified in the chain of custody, which guarantees that the customer who buys certified wood really receives it.

From 2017 to June 2018, there were two forest concessions with 100% FSC certification (total area almost 35,000 hectares).

It is currently in the process of certifying a concession acquired in 2017 with an area of 41, 248.25 under the category of 100% FSC Certification.

Forest management

Sustainable Forest management in the Amazon forests means to work according to the norms and regulations of the Peruvian forest and wild life of the law. Yearly we implement a forest census which is the basis for an annual operations plan, that is finally approved by the respective forest authorities.
In addition, we practice the principles of sustainability and good forest management, respecting the rights of indigenous peoples and other residents in the surroundings of our concessions, applying the principles and criteria of the Forest Management Certification Standards for Timber Products in Forests. of the Peruvian Amazon.
We strictly apply our Responsible Sourcing Policy to our wood suppliers, minimizing risks of supplying wood of illegal origin or wood extracted in violation of traditional and civil rights.
